Terms Of Service
Last updated: September 2, 2026
Welcome to Learn French In Toronto (learnfrenchto.com). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and the French language consulting services we provide. By booking a session or purchasing a package, you agree to these Terms in full.
Services Offered
Learn French In Toronto provides private, one-on-one French language consulting sessions focused on TEF and TCF exam preparation, as well as general French fluency coaching. Sessions are primarily conducted online via video call. In-person sessions (in Toronto) may be available subject to the specific terms outlined in the “Service Delivery & Format” section below.
Service Delivery & Format
All session packages (including 10-Hour and 20-Hour packages) purchased via our online platform are designed and priced for online delivery (via video conferencing) by default. While we may exceptionally accommodate requests to swap remaining package hours to in-person sessions (in Toronto), this is strictly subject to instructor availability and venue scheduling, and is not guaranteed.
In-Person Sessions & Public Venues
In-person sessions take place at mutually agreed-upon public or third-party venues within Toronto, such as quiet co-working spaces, cafes, or community study areas. While we aim to secure quiet areas when possible, the student acknowledges that these are shared environments. Learn French In Toronto is not responsible for background noise, venue policies, closures, or interruptions caused by the venue. Exact meeting locations and access instructions will be provided via email 24 hours prior to the session.
Assumption of Risk & Personal Property: By choosing to attend an in-person session, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with visiting public spaces. Learn French In Toronto cannot be held liable for any personal injury, nor for the loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings (such as laptops, phones, notebooks, or bags) that may occur before, during, or after our session while on the venue’s premises.
Booking And Payments
All bookings and payments are processed securely through Square. By booking a session, you confirm that you have provided accurate information and authorize the charge to your selected payment method.
- Single Sessions: Payment is due at the time of booking.
- Discovery Session ($60): Fully credited toward any package you subsequently purchase within 30 days.
- Packages (10-Hour or 20-Hour): Payment is due in full at the time of purchase. Packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Any unused sessions after 6 months expire and are non-refundable.
- Package Scheduling: For 10-Hour and 20-Hour packages, the initial booking via our online platform secures the first 2 hours of instruction. The scheduling of all remaining sessions must be coordinated directly with the instructor via email or our contact form.
- Diagnostic Limit: The introductory Discovery Session is strictly limited to one (1) per student. It is a diagnostic assessment and is not intended for ongoing tutoring. Learn French In Toronto reserves the right to cancel and refund duplicate Discovery Session bookings.
Cancellation And Rescheduling
We understand that schedules change. Please respect the following cancellation policy:
- You may cancel or reschedule a session with at least 24 hours’ notice at no charge.
- Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session rate.
- No-shows (failing to attend without notice) are charged the full session rate.
In rare cases where we must cancel a session (e.g., illness or emergency), we will notify you as soon as possible and offer a reschedule or full credit toward your next session.
Refunds
Due to the personalized nature of our consulting services:
- Single sessions are non-refundable once completed.
- Package sessions that have not yet been used may be refunded on a pro-rata basis within 30 days of purchase, minus any sessions already delivered and a small administrative fee.
- After 30 days, or after more than 20% of the package has been delivered, no refunds are issued.
No Guarantee Of Results
While we are committed to providing high-quality, expert coaching to help you prepare for your TEF or TCF exam, we cannot guarantee any specific exam score, CLB level, or Express Entry invitation. Exam results depend on many factors, including your starting level, effort, consistency, and performance on exam day.
Our role is to provide you with the strategies, practice, and guidance needed to maximize your potential; the final result rests with you and the official examiners.
Student Responsibilities
To get the most out of your sessions, we expect students to:
- Arrive on time and prepared for each session
- Complete any recommended practice or homework between sessions
- Communicate openly about their goals, challenges, and progress
Intellectual Property
All materials provided during sessions (including worksheets, practice exams, and strategies) are for your personal use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or share these materials with third parties without our written consent.
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Learn French In Toronto shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service in question.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
